Transylvania Partners for Democracy and the Transylvania Chapter of the NAACP invite citizens representing all political viewpoints to attend “Keep the Vision Alive! A Celebration Rally for the Constitution” at the Transylvania County Courthouse gazebo on Tuesday, September 17 at 5 PM.

Whatever our political views, we must join together to protect and defend the 237-year-old document that protects our rights, safeguards our democracy, and calls us to our obligations as citizens. This gathering is an opportunity for members of our community  to celebrate  and recommit themselves to the vision of the Constitution’s promise to create “a more perfect union.”  

The rally will have brief celebratory remarks and musical selections.

Transylvania Partners for Democracy will also distribute copies of the Constitution, and the Transylvania NAACP will sponsor a voter registration table. Rally attendees are encouraged to bring their signs showing support for a document that, 237 years after its signing, remains the world’s longest surviving written charter of government.
