TC Kids Need You
Let’s Fill the Board of Education Meeting Room on Monday, June 19, 6:30 pm
As Chair Sam Edney stated in our latest newsletter: “When you work in our community, like attending public meetings, we can truly be effective.”
The GOP led Transylvania County Board of Education is going to fill the current open BOE vacancy.
That person MUST be a Democrat. The TCDP has already presented 6 well-qualified candidates to be considered and we need to make sure one of our candidates is selected.
By law, the appointment must be a Democrat for at least 90 days, be 21 years old and a resident of Transylvania County. Current GOP TC Board of Education members will try to subvert the law — they are requiring candidates to submit a letter of interest attaching a current resume or curriculum vitae. It’s assumed each candidate will be interviewed (possibly that night) before someone is selected.
How to Help:
Attend the Board of Education meeting Monday, June 19, at 6:30 pm located at the Morris Education Center, 225 Rosenwald Lane, Brevard.
Just a room full of Democrats being at the meeting is a statement. Together, Democrats stand strong.
Call up a friend or neighbor and bring them to the meeting.
