Urge Lawmakers to Support Gun Safety Bill
Maybe, just maybe, there’ll be something more than just “thoughts and prayers” after the recent tragic school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Twenty senators, including both of North Carolina’s, have agreed on a “bipartisan framework” for gun safety legislation. If this gun safety and mental health plan becomes law, it will help keep guns out of the wrong hands and support states and communities as they work to address the gun safety crisis.
Contact your elected representatives and urge them to support this framework and to vote to pass ensuing legislation.
Here is a sample message:
“As your constituent, I support the bipartisan gun safety and mental health framework and urge you to work to make it law. Too many lives have already been lost to senseless gun violence, and it’s time to take bold steps to protect the people in our communities. Please take action now to ensure that this bipartisan framework becomes law."
